Server Resource Issues

Greetings,
We have a large store (about 3,000) items and installed the trial version of xShop yesterday as it seemed that it would really help in the massive price changes we seem to have perform all the time (we're in the tobacco industry).

The product worked as expected (slick interface, smooth installation) - however my host has shut down our database 2x in the last 24 hours-
"Due to problems it was causing on the server, we were forced to disable the
database." -

When it does come on-line, it is loading extremely slow (front end), and some admin pages just hang.

Through the host (pair Networks) I optimized the database this afternoon- no help.

Using xShop on Vista, and have not had any other problems with the shop before this issue. Also experienced database "too many users" error today as well- We are using a Remote access (was planning on the SSH after testing the functionality)

I would be most grateful for any insight/advice. The store at this point is down, but should be on-line later this evening - Cape Cod Cigar Lounge- Puff The Magic, Hyannis, MA

Hi,

I use xShop regularly and have never run into a problem with mysql resource usage. It is actually much lighter than osCMax as far as queries go. If you could obtain the exact details of the resource usage problem from your host, that would go a long way to checking out the issue.
